We are always seeking people who recognise the value of sharing their experiences to create opportunities for inclusion and belonging for people who feel isolated and excluded because of mental health issues.

Our mental health volunteering and supportive programs focus on community inclusion, helping to create more welcoming spaces in community and supporting people to increase their sense of belonging within their community. We offer opportunities, training and support to people willing to give their time, skills, expertise, passion and energy.

Helpline is a peer-led volunteer phone service, which means every person working on Helpline has a lived experience of mental health issues. This may be as someone with their own personal experience, or someone who cares for a family member or friend with mental health issues.

Helpline volunteers assist callers in navigating the mental health system and provide emotional support and information about the services available to people experiencing mental health issues, as well as their family and friends.

Brainwaves is a weekly community radio show, produced and presented by people with a lived experience of mental health issues, either personally or as a family member or carer. The program covers a wide range of topics relating to mental health, and regularly features special guests.

We have both production volunteers and creative volunteers.

Our production volunteers deliver the show by interviewing guests and undertaking all the technical tasks on the day needed to put Brainwaves to air.

Our creative volunteers source talent, research topics, prepare interview questions and promote the show on social media.

The Life in Community volunteer program supports people across various Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) facilities by assisting in social inclusion activities, encouraging community linkage, building on natural supports and developing social connections.

Volunteers assist with social inclusion by supporting people in a range of activities and focus on identifying and developing sustainable and ongoing social links together with the person they’re supporting.
